First things first, I would like to humbly wish you all Merry Meet, and to thank you for taking the time to read this little blog of mine.
I am not a new witch by any stretches of the imagination, but I think like all of us, everyday I continue to learn and develop my own version of the craft.
The craft is my life, and has been for as long as I can remember.
So on that note, I wanted to make my first post, of what is my hope will be many blog and vlog posts to this site, a little bit about me. A kind of introduction to my life type of thing.
As you could probably guess by the title of this site, I am a witch.
Not a dark witch or a white witch, not someone who curses poor unfortunate souls or sucks the lives out of little children. Just a plain old simple home grown witch.
I am none of these and yet, strangely, all of these as well.
My particular leanings are toward
- Celestial and Universal energies
- Divination such as Tarot, Oracle and pendulum
- Cooking and baking
- Home routine
- Homemade offerings
- Folk Magick
- Essential Oils and Incense
- The elements – all of them!!
- The Earth, the Moon, the Sky
- Ancient workings
- Spellcraft – potions, amulets and talesmens
- Candle Magick, Energy Magick……….
Ok, I could go on here, but I think you get the picture!
If I were to put a label on myself, and trust me, I’m really not one for labels, I would call myself a Solitary Eclectic Witch who also practices Wicca.
Breaking It Down
For clarities sake, I think it would be suitable to say:
I practice on my own, I don’t have or belong to a coven, and nor do I have any inclinations to join one either.
I do what I want, when I want, how I want (go me!). If something takes my fancy I do it, if it doesn’t, I don’t – simple!
The religious side of me. On a day to day basis, I will both honour and speak to deities, energies, spirits, angels, animal guides etc. When I can, I follow the cycles of both the Earth and of the Moon, and celebrate these during Esbats and Sabbats (more about these much later!).
I follow the path of the Horned God, and of the Triple Goddess, The Maiden, The Mother and The Crone.
As a child, I grew up making potions out of mud and grass (and whatever Shampoo or moisturisers I found in the bathroom), speaking with animals, creating familiars as imaginary friends etc etc.
Into my teens I went to my first witchcraft school (literally, it was an evening class on witchcraft) with my mum and sister. I began to practice the Tarot (thanks mum!) and my first business was a mail order catalogue business selling candles, incense, essential oils, and home crafting spells for those who needed them.
Fast forward twenty odd years, I’m still reading the Tarot, but have expanded my divination craft into the Oracle (particularly the Angel Oracle) and I am never far from at least one (of my many!!!!) dowsing pendulums.
After years of practice, and keeping to myself through self confidence issues, I have finally given myself permission to serve others through my Psychic Tarot and Oracle Readings, Pendulum Readings and my Mystic Coaching and to be honest, once I had not only made but followed through with that decision, I honestly haven’t looked back!
My catalogue business has evolved into an online shop, Mystic Maidens, where I essentially sell my world.
Divination tools and accessories, incense and smudge kits, lots and lots of jewellery, and at the time of writing, I am beginning to expand into crystals and spell kits. For me, all very exciting stuff!
I love my life, and I love my craft, and I guess this is my own little way of formally coming out of the broom cupboard, and creeping myself slowly into a world full of muggles that will have very mixed reactions about who I am and what I do.
Of course there is a lot more to me, and my craft then what has been explained here, but my hope is that this has given you a flavour of me, and of what I hope is to come in the following days, months and even years if all goes well.
This is simply me, opening the door to my little world, and inviting all those with love and light in their hearts to enter in.
Blessed Be xxx
